Tech Transformation for Impact and Collaboration
Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia
“ To have an impact, you have to have great partners... this has been an outstanding collaboration with Infoxchange. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. “
Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia (“A&AA”) is a registered charity and Australia’s only national support organisation dedicated to helping individuals and carers manage allergies and the risk of anaphylaxis. A&AA raises awareness of allergic conditions, including life-threatening allergies, by providing evidence-based information, resources and services to support children and adults living with allergic diseases.
In November 2022, they recognised they needed to catch up in their digital literacy. Karen Wong, the Operations Manager for Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, realised they were outgrowing the capabilities of their IT volunteer and decided to seek expert guidance.
“We wanted to ensure we were trustworthy and credible from an IT perspective because, of course, as a charity, you've only got your reputation,” says Karen.
“You know that as charities, we generally run on the smell of an oily rag, and we were probably falling behind in the digital world and digital literacy.”
As they embarked on this journey and pursued a technology partner, A&AA engaged with Infoxchange just as the SSTF fund – the NSW government’s funding initiative for small and medium-sized not-for-profits – became available. They were found eligible to participate, and through this program, our team conducted a thorough assessment and developed a comprehensive solution to streamline operations and enhance collaboration using Microsoft 365.
“We knew that we probably needed more expertise, specifically expertise in the not-for-profit sector, and we were lucky enough to win a NSW social sector grant, which made us eligible to reach out to Infoxchange,” says Karen.
“So we joined that program … started a strategic review of what we were doing and a deeper look with thousands and thousands of dollars that we could never have really afforded without the security of the grant.”
This brought about transformative results for A&AA’s technology landscape, including a Cloud Migration, SharePoint review, standardising user management, enabling backup and securing their overall technology environment with centralised Managed IT Support.
The SharePoint remediation specifically really empowered A&AA to start to work collaboratively in ways they didn’t know were possible, as our expert team enabled some of the built-in features of Microsoft 365, including a central Intranet to publicise news and events, quick links, policy & template libraries, versioning control and secure file sharing. A&AA have said their staff can work much more efficiently and effectively.
“In our digital journey, we have found when we engage with an expert, that’s where the magic happens. Using the ticketing system, I don’t think I’ve met anyone at Infoxchange, that hasn't been delightful to engage with. Our ability to collaborate has improved, creating efficiencies and effectiveness,” says Karen.
A&AA has expressed high satisfaction with their digital transformation journey, acknowledging our team as an integral partner in helping them get the most out of technology to advance their mission.
“This has been an outstanding collaboration with Infoxchange. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. To have an impact, you have to have great partners… We can't afford to have that expertise sitting in-house…. Infoxchange has been added as a trusted partner…. We should have called them earlier!”
